Jesus lived a perfect life—sinless and upright in every way. So why was he falsely accused, convicted, and killed? We are the ones who have sinned and deserve death. But Jesus went to the cross in our place, and he bore the punishment we deserve. As it says in 2 Corinthians 5:21, "God made him, who knew no sin, to be sin for us. That we might become the righteousness of God."
