Women of Welcome: Christ-Like WelcomeSample
Welcome that Invites
Thoughtful Questions:
1. (In Luke 14) Before the great banquet passage, Jesus told another related parable in verses 7-11. Take a moment to look this up in your Bible (Luke 14:7-11). How does this particular story weave deeper meaning into the great banquet parable (verses 12-24)?
2. Imagine you are one of the people “on the highways and hedges” who receives the last-minute invitation to attend (crippled, blind, lame, beggars). How would you feel about being invited and physically “brought in” as someone who belongs?
3. (In John 1) How do you think John’s two disciples felt about being invited to Jesus’s place and spending time with him? If you were invited to spend the day with Jesus, what would you talk to him about? What questions would you have for him?

About this Plan
The welcome of Christ was astonishing to the culture around him. He gave voice to the speechless, frustrated the powerful, and humbled the wise. As Christians, our welcome should be like his– wonderfully surprising, deeply challenging, and firmly rooted in love. This five-week study explores the complicated and beautiful welcome of Jesus toward his most beloved creation, human beings. Jump in with us, individually or with a small group, and let’s transform how we show welcome.
