Pouring Into Others When You Feel EmptySample
Step out from Your Comfort Zone
Remember on day one when I shared my Wyoming experience with you? That was definitely out of my comfort zone! I had never been more terrified than working with 150 young people from around the world, and I was one of only two believers.
But, like I mentioned earlier, God showed how I could pour into others out of my fear and by stepping out of my comfort zone. Another practical piece of insight--don’t be afraid to step out of your own comfort zone!
Both of the Scripture readings for the day speak to the fear of stepping out. You weren’t created to live in fear. God created you to live strong and courageously. To have a spirit of power and love. May these attributes propel you to live life outside of the comfortable.
Pouring into others might look different than how you’ve done it in the past or how you think it should be. God could be calling you today to bring cookies to a new neighbor you’ve not yet met, or to go up and talk to a stranger at church, or even give more than you’ve given before in the offering.
I don’t know what God is calling you to today, but it could certainly be uncomfortable. Especially if you feel empty or drained of how you’ve served others before, God may be getting creative with you to keep you going. A new thing may be just what you’re looking for in the adventure of serving others!
