"Resist the Devil and he Will Flee" 

Jesus was tempted three times by the devil when He was in the middle of a 40 day fast in the wilderness. The devil came when Jesus was at his weakest point physically and tried to dissuade Him. If Jesus was tempted by the devil, don’t you think the devil is going to come after you and me as well? As you renew your mind and continue to replace those worldly thoughts with the thoughts of God, the devil is going to do everything he can to distract you and fill your mind with lies and deceit. 

James 4:7 says to “resist the devil and he will flee from you.” As you are grabbing those thoughts of fear, shame, lack, guilt, sickness and pain, the devil is going to attack your mind. How can you resist the devil? Do exactly what Jesus did in Matthew 4 – combat the devil’s lies with the Word of God. When the thought comes that you are going to fail, remind the devil that God already promised you victory! Every lie of the devil has a coinciding truth from God’s Word, so use the Word as your weapon and fight until the devil flees. 

Renewal Thought: The Word of God is our sword (Ephesians 6:17). How can you wield your sword today to combat the devil and resist his lies and attacks?  
Prayer: Father, I submit to you and resist the devil. I refuse to let doubt, fear or negative thoughts steal my faith, strength and renewal. I believe Your Word is true. I am healed, I am free, I am blessed, and I am living the abundant life. I reject the negative thoughts of the enemy and walk in the Word of the Lord.
