5 Daily Words for Boys

DAY 5 OF 5

Journey

Marlon had run races for a few years but right now he was training for his first longer one. He wanted to give up, but he knew it would get easier with time. His muscles were tired, and his feet were sore, but he had a goal. He knew he could sprint for a short time, but he was learning how to have endurance. He was learning how to keep running, even when he really wanted to quit.

Your relationship with God is a journey. It’s a lot like training for a marathon. There will be times when you want to quit but you need to learn how to have endurance. Following Jesus is a lifetime of choices and opportunities to strengthen your faith. There won’t ever be a point when you are finished or done being a Christian. As you get older, your faith will become stronger, and you will gain wisdom but that doesn’t mean you ever stop growing.

What can you do today to strengthen yourself for the journey of loving Jesus for your whole life?
