The Secret to Freedom
Have you ever argued with yourself? Although it sounds strange, we’ve all been there. You have something you really want to do, yet deep down you know it’s not the right thing to do. You find yourself engaged in an inner conflict you can't seem to resolve. If you do the right thing, you won't experience guilt and shame. At the same time, you're tempted to enjoy the forbidden fruit of sin.
This battle rages within us on a daily basis as we make decisions. It comes up at work when we are forced to choose between being a person of integrity or cutting corners and taking the easy way out. Choosing to live according to the Spirit or according to our flesh is a decision we’ll have to make every day for the rest of our lives. How we choose to live will determine whether we are embracing God's Spirit or our flesh.
With our new identity, God gives us the Holy Spirit! No longer do we have to live as slaves to our fleshly desires. Freedom and victory come as we walk in step with God’s Spirit and yield to His will for our lives. How will you choose to live today?
As you engage with God’s word:
● What is God saying to you?
● What does it mean to you?
● What action step do you need to take?
After you reflect on these questions, bring everything to God in prayer.
