Music: Songs From the Book of IsaiahSample
Day 6 - My Sheep (Palms of My Hands)
Finally! Isaiah 49. It's one of my personal favorites... Yes, again ;) What can I say? I love the book of Isaiah!
There's so much Jesus in this book; sometimes, it feels like I'm reading the New Testament. Have you ever read the Bible as a series of love letters? If you haven't so far, try it. That makes all these songs I create love songs. And they are. Check out Zephaniah 3:17.
"I would not forget you, (...) I've written your name on the palms of my hands." (Isaiah 49)
It's a loving God Who says: "Come into the light, come out in freedom."
He said that to me after having struggled with depression for over 20 years, an intense longing for death, living with so many addictions, and failing miserably on my own. Then, three years ago, He called me into the light, into freedom.
Cause my name is engraved in His hands. He didn't forget me. He kept calling and wouldn't stop till I was in the light, walking in freedom.
Some folks try to diminish the love God has for you. There's also sin, they say; we are flawed, and... Yes, but sin has been dealt with by Jesus. What remains is His everlasting love.
When God called me to do this Project of Love (it's all in the name 😉), Jesus told me in a dream: "This is our project of love; together, we will show the heart of the Father to the world."
I say: you can't exaggerate God's love. You just can't. If you want to ponder over something, ponder His amazing love for us.
Isaiah 49 – My Sheep (Palms of My Hands)
9. I will say to the prisoners, ‘Come out in freedom,’
and to those in darkness, ‘Come into the light.’
They will be my sheep, grazing in green pastures
and on hills that were previously bare.
10. For the Lord in his mercy will lead them;
He will lead them beside cool waters.
15. Can a mother forget her nursing child?
Can she feel no love for the child she has borne?
But even if that were possible,
I would not forget you!
16. See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands.
8. At just the right time, I will respond to you.
