Gracious Heavenly Father,

Gracious Heavenly Father,
A new day is before us,
and with it comes
demands and deadlines,
tasks to be accomplished
and needs to be supplied.

"The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing."

As I go through
the hustle and bustle
of doing this,
taking care of that,
planning ahead and
finishing up from behind,
I will keep my thoughts on you
and Your peace will be with me.

"He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he refreshes my soul."

As I decide on this,
and ponder that,
as I am faced with
challenges,
possible dead ends,
seemingly insurmountable obstacles,
I will trust You and Your leading in my life.

"He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me."

No matter what may happen,
no matter what may come my way,
no matter how hard the task
or how sweet the blessing,
I will praise you in and through it all.

"You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows."

You are my God
and you have created this day.

You are with me in it.

You are with me through it.

You are with me despite it.

You are with me
working all things
for my good and Your glory,
and I praise you, Father God.

"Surely your goodness and love
will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell
in the house of the Lord
forever."

Thank you for today, Lord.

Thank you for what
You are doing
and have already done.

Thank you for all that lies ahead.

Thank you for
guiding and leading,
providing and protecting,
shielding and defending,
supplying and accompanying,
abiding and blessing.

In Jesus' precious name,
I pray.
