I AM THE LORD YOUR GOD

I am the Lord your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt, the place of your slavery. Exodus 20:2

THOUGHT

Indeed, there is no other subject or living being more complex than God. Nothing— no length of study or intense contemplation—could begin to unveil his depth and breadth. The wisest among us could not begin to understand even the tiniest of his truths without God’s own help. However, as believers, it is our privilege to attempt to get to know our heavenly Father deeply. This is the greatest adventure, the believer’s glorious journey and quest.

During the course of this divine exploration, we get to enjoy the Lord’s true and indescribable beauty. We live our lives in awe of his glory and his love. This morning, bask in the amazing, life-giving truth that—in all his vast power, might, and knowledge—he faithfully declares, I am the Lord your God.

PRAYER

Lord, there are times when all I can do is rejoice over the truth that I am your child and you are my God. Thank you for rescuing me out of the slavery of sin. You are the Lord my God, and I’m grateful. Amen.
