DAY 5 OF 5

Day Five: Revelatory Worship

On day one, we spoke about worshiping from truth and revelation. I want to talk about a few places where revelation was important for worship. Without revelation, everything is logical and carnal which makes us hear less of what God is ready to say and do.

“When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful” (Matt 28:17).

That was after Christ’s resurrection. The disciples who were with Him for all His teachings and saw the signs, miracles and wonders, saw Him die. You can imagine that they didn’t see Him wake. They saw how He died and, even though He’s proven that he is God as man, and had said that would happen they still didn’t believe it. Do you imagine they heard anything he said or were they trying to figure how it’s possible for a man who died like that to live like this?

Some may have missed what he was instructing because they were logical and not spiritual in their acceptance of Him. Although all of them were in the position of worship, those doubting were not in worship.

Of course, we also have the example of an iconic woman---the lady with the alabaster box.

“A woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, which she poured on his head as he was reclining at the table” (Matt 26:7).

When others were seeing a waste of resources, Jesus knew that what she was doing was worshiping her Master whom she would never see again.

No one had comprehended, not even the disciples that the death of Yeshua would happen. Yet she worshiped from revelation of the death that was to come. While others were serving their Rabbi, she was serving her Messiah. Most importantly, Jesus received this worship significantly and even defended it because it was symbolic of what was to come.

It’s important to move from the perspective of revelation in your worship and prayer. Not custom, not simply habit.

Always let the Spirit guide you to all truth.

Day 4

About this Plan

Take Heart: A 5-Day Devotional by HLE

There’s an understanding that you can only worship in church or in the setting where there are people and band and singers. Whether or not we realize it, we are robbing ourselves of a very important part of our existence. Worship is like air to us. Just like water is to fish, so is worship to us. And the more you do this exercise is the more you’ll see how vital it is. Every day we will learn something new to incorporate into our daily meditation, prayer and worship routine. I know it will make a huge difference in your life.
