Do you read the Bible on a device or as a book? Did you know that when you look at a Bible, you are looking at a sword?!
Read Ephesians chapter 6, verse 17: God’s Word is like a sword.
Is it because it makes us feel important?
Or because it is like a weapon that God has given us to fight against evil?
A sword is not much use if it isn’t used. It’s no good having the Bible as a weapon against evil if we don’t use it.
Read Ephesians chapter 6, verse 18. This verse says the same thing several times – to make sure we get the message! What is the message that the writer is telling us?
Get reading, sword-wielders. The Bible prepares us for life. God’s sword is God’s Word!
Pray: Ask God to help you read your Bible and to live his way. Pray that your strength will grow as you use the armour God has given you.
