Remain True - 1&2 TimothySample

Timothy, a native of Lystra, may have been converted on Paul’s first missionary journey (Acts 14:6-23). When Paul returned to Lystra on his second journey, Timothy was a disciple well respected by the believers. Paul asked Timothy to accompany him & Silas as he moved westward. When Paul was unable to go on missions, Timothy was sent. He went to Corinth when Paul was unable to, and later when Paul was in prison, he sent Timothy to Philippi and then to Ephesus, where it is believed Timothy was when Paul wrote 1 Timothy.
The epistle (letter) contains instructions concerning order and structure in the church & advice for the young pastor. 1 Timothy offers rich theological and ethical wisdom. Paul draws clear connections between doctrine and ethics, belief, and behaviour.

About this Plan

Written to Timothy, the books of 1 & 2 Timothy present Paul’s passion for preserving the truth of God’s Word. At the heart of Paul’s message is the charge for Timothy to remain true to the gospel, no matter what. Join us in these letters, rich with wisdom and hope, as Paul reminds us how remaining faithful to the gospel's truth is the foundation of a Christ-centred life.
