Protective Shield
Solomon says God is a shield to those who walk with integrity (that means they do the right thing even when no one is watching).
Have you ever been tempted to do the wrong thing because you knew that no one was with you? Let me tell you something you may not be aware of: God is always with you. He is always by your side. Even if you ignore Him, He is still there. He doesn’t force you to behave a certain way because He is there. He knows it is hard to do what is right always.
But I have good news for you! Jesus loved you so much that He came to earth not just to die but to live a perfect life. He never told a lie or disrespected His parents. He lived a sinless life so that His sacrifice on the cross would be accepted by God the Father.
The sacrifice Jesus made on the cross takes away our sinful nature, that thing inside you that makes you want to do what is wrong. When you believe in Jesus as your Savior, God gives you a new nature, and you can stand before God justified—just as if you hadn’t sinned. Isn’t that great news? Jesus is your Savior because He becomes your shield against sin and everything evil.
(Parents/adults–talk to your children about choosing Jesus as their Savior. It is okay if they’re not ready, but let them know it is a crucial choice to make).
Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank You for living a perfect life for me. I want to honor Your love for me. Please shield my heart from sin. Amen.
