6 Steps to DestinySample
Day 2: Wholeness
Wholeness is forming a complete and harmonious whole, being unbroken or undamaged. Society defines one as being whole based on being married, having a career, owning a business, having a family, being financially fit, and the like. But that's not being whole; instead, that's being a productive and reasonable human being. One can have everything desired according to society but still have nothing.
To be whole within yourself, one must first have a secure relationship with God, as stated in the Day 1 devotion. Next, one must know who they are: Self-Identity. Many people begin to label and identify themselves based on their family history, their failures, their disabilities, their hurts, their sins, and shortcomings; but who one truly is, is who God created and predestined them to be. Jeremiah 1:5 says, "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you before you were born. I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."
Building and nurturing your relationship with Christ is where you discover who you are, based on God's plans and will for your life. Once you know who you are and are called to be, you can begin the process of becoming whole within yourself. To accomplish that, one has to go through these three steps: Acknowledge, Accept, and Overcome. Acknowledge what you have suffered and endured; call a thing a thing. Then, utilize God's grace, mercy, and understanding to accept those things for what they are. Acceptance doesn't mean that it defines or labels you as so, but instead, it helps you better understand that obstacle so that you know precisely how to face it, fight it and defeat it, so it no longer has power over you, but you over it. Then, once you have regained complete mental and emotional control over it, you can freely and boldly walk over it (overcome).
Mastering these three steps then leads to complete and total wholeness. At this point, you stand tall and see your life completely differently. You accept who you are but understand who you were called and created to be from the beginning, despite what you have endured. And you now realize that even the darkest and most unwarranted days of your life don't define you but develop you.
