Growing up, a pastor I will forever cherish gave me great insight and encouragement for life when he said, “Son, God is in your belly!” That phrase threw me off. The more I thought about it, the more I understood what he meant. It led me to 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. Paul wrote, “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you, and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, For God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.’’ Paul taught that we do not belong to ourselves but to God. In other words, you do not belong to porn. And, when you give your body to porn, you are actually destroying the temple of God who lives inside you.

1 Corinthians 10:31 says, “So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” Notice in that Scripture Paul says, whatever you do, remember that God is in your belly! Whatever you choose to do with your temple, God is there with you.

Daily Challenge:

Analyze your heart and ask the Holy Spirit, “Am I honoring God today with the body He has given me?” If the answer is no, I pray you reframe your heart and body and honor Him.

Prayer:

“ Holy Spirit, thank you for leading me today. Help me to remember that I am not my own. Holy Spirit, if I am not honoring you, I ask that you lead and guide me to honor you with my body. You are in my Belly! In Jesus’ name. Amen!”
