Today's Prayer

"Lord Jesus, I give you thanks, with my whole heart. I give you thanks for your steadfast love and faithfulness. In God the Father’s infinite mercy, He granted me the gift of faith in your sacrificial death, burial, and resurrection. I thank Him for His grace to know you and receive your love. Thank you for willingly laying down your life, bearing my sin, and suffering the punishment that I deserved, so that I may have eternal life. I want to live my life for you. I want to exalt above all things your name and your Word. You and you alone are worthy of my praise. I want to treasure you, delight in you, cherish you, revere you, be satisfied in you, and glorify you and you alone.

Lord Jesus, you are mine and I am yours. No matter if I succeed or fail, win or lose, am rich or poor, am included or excluded, am known or unknown, am encouraged or discouraged, may I find my hope, contentment, and purpose in you. May my chief aim be to love you, glorify you, and enjoy you. Lord Jesus, grant me your grace to cling to you.

IN THE MOMENT …

when worry begins,

when fear pounces,

when anger raises its ugly head,

when shame knocks,

or when sorrow pierces my heart.

I DO NOT WANT TO …

coddle my worries,

cuddle my fear,

caress my anger,

cower in shame,

or be consumed by my sorrow.

HELP ME HUMBLE MYSELF ...

under your mighty and loving hand,

casting all of my anxieties on you,

knowing that you love me and care for me.

Lord Jesus, I want to place all of my trust in you. Your Word promises that if we ask anything in your name and according to your will you will do it. I believe that you hear my prayers (Jn. 14:13-14). When I cry to you for help you hear my prayer. You are my helper and my deliverer. I will wait patiently for you. Jesus, in your name, I pray. Amen.
