God's Best for YouSample
Start something new!
A couple of really intense weeks were behind me, and I was looking forward to a week off. I was completely relaxed—I didn't have any appointments, phone calls, or even emails that I opened.
After this short time "away from work," however, I realized something: it took quite a push to get back to where I'd left off with my work! "What had I just written about in 'A Miracle Every Day'?", "Who's urgently waiting for a response from me again?", and many other questions circled around my mind.
I realized how quickly we can lose touch if we don't keep at it constantly. Because of this, we often either 1) don't take any breaks at all or 2) fall so behind that we think we've lost touch for good.
Today, I'd like to share something very important about this with you.
Perhaps you also feel like you can't "keep up with life" anymore due to illness or some other situation, and it's difficult for you to get back to the place you once were.
I can tell you…I needed that break. I needed the vacation. Yes, it's true that I struggled to understand the thoughts and notes I'd jotted down before. I read them again and couldn't quite figure them out. But it wasn't because I was out of touch—it was because I had even better ideas since the break!
Could it be that you're not actually lagging behind but rather singing a completely new, original song? :-)
Maybe you don't actually need to pick up where you left off! Maybe God has used the situation to lead you to a whole new place in your life, and now you're allowed to "start over" here—not with the old but with the NEW He has in store for you! He has the best in mind for you, right where you are!
"'Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!...'" (Isaiah 43:18-19, NIV)
I encourage you…don't start over with the old if the Lord is asking you to start fresh!
You are a miracle!
