TGIF for Women: 7 Devotions for the WorkplaceSample
Full-Time Christian Work
"I didn’t know you were in full-time Christian work,” said my close friend.
I responded, “Every person who has followed the will of God in their life is in full-time Christian work.” God calls some to the mission field and others to be accountants, advertising executives, and construction workers. God never made a distinction between sacred and secular. In fact, the Hebrew word avodah is the root word having the same meaning of both “work” and “worship.” God wants us to see all work as worship.
We have incorrectly elevated the role of those Christians who work exclusively in ministry to be holier and more committed than the person who is serving in a more secular environment. Yet the call to the secular workplace is as important as any other calling. God has to have his people in every sphere of life. Otherwise, if all Christians were separated from society, many in the world would never come to know Jesus.
We are all on missions. Some are called to foreign lands. Some are called to the workplace. Wherever you are called, serve the Lord in that place.
Question: Have you ever thought those in vocational ministry were more spiritual than you?
Father, thank you that we are all in “full-time Christian work” because there are no part-time Christians.

About this Plan
Transform your workplace for God’s glory. God has called women to demonstrate their faith at work, but it can be hard to experience God’s presence in the middle of meetings, projects, and emails. These devotions from Os Hillman focus on how you can become a living testimony at work, make an impact, and fulfill God’s calling in your profession. Work out your faith and watch the eternal impact.
