How to Love Like Jesus Loves (Even When It’s Hard!)Sample
This week we learned about how Jesus showed us agape love, even when we did not love Him. And we learned that nothing can separate us from His love. We also learned that we may not always feel like loving other people, but He can help us to choose love.
Let’s read Naomi’s story again:
Naomi had loved 5th grade. She and her best friend, Jasmine, were always together and Naomi had never felt lonely. But 6th grade was different. She and Jasmine had drifted apart over the summer, and now Jasmine had a new best friend. Naomi had tried to talk with her, but Jasmine was always too busy, and her new friend didn’t seem to like Naomi. One day in the bathroom, Naomi overheard them laughing and talking about her. She felt hurt and betrayed and wanted to find a way to get back at Jasmine. She knew all of Jasmine’s secrets, and she thought about spreading one around at lunch.
What do you think Naomi should do? How can she show love to Jasmine and her new friend?
Remember, you can always pray and ask God to help you to love people, even when it’s hard!
