SOAP – Romans 8:1-2
Believers in Jesus Christ as Savior are freed from the penalty of sin and the power of sin in our lives. Although believers will not reach perfection on this side of heaven and will continue to struggle with sin, we have the confidence that we have been justified and pardoned through Jesus’ work on the cross.
What past failures and sins are you condemning and judging? Believers can boldly go to God’s throne of grace seeking Him as our loving, forgiving Father. Since we are new creations in Christ, we must strive not to get stuck in our past, but move forward in the path that God has set before us.
Father God, I thank You for making the ultimate sacrifice for me. Help me to rest in my salvation and walk confidently in it. Help me to see myself the way You see me. Help me to walk in Christ’s perfect righteousness. Help me to forgive others as graciously as You have forgiven me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
