Going Places

DAY 4 OF 28

Driving across the country can be a lot of fun, but it's not easy. Technically, it takes about forty hours to drive from New York City to Los Angeles, but that's only if you're driving non-stop. Let's be honest — you can't just drive for forty hours straight. You're going to have to stop and sleep at some point. Not many people can drive for forty hours without ever stopping once.

But what if there are two people in the car? Things just got a lot easier. Now, one person can drive while the other person gets some rest. If those two people take turns the entire way, they can probably make the drive without hardly ever stopping. And what if there are three people? Then one person can nap, one person can drive, and the third person can keep the driver company so they don't get too bored. In other words, the more people you have in the car, the easier the drive gets.

That's just how life is. Doing things alone is difficult. But when you're surrounded with good friends, challenges seem a lot more manageable. The Bible says that when we help each other with the burdens we carry, we're fulfilling Jesus' law. So if you're facing a problem that feels like too much for you, don't be afraid to ask a friend for help. Jesus wants us to remember that we aren't meant to do life alone.

About this Plan

Going Places

Friends are the people we’ve spent countless hours with telling stories, laughing, and creating memories together. Great friendships are more than just having people to hang out with, but how do you find friends like that? How do you build the kinds of friendships that last? And what do you do if you feel like your friendships aren't everything you'd want them to be?
