DAY 3:IN THE MIDDLE OF MIRACLES
Once the last of the crowd disappeared, Jesus circled back to what He had been seeking earlier that day — solitude. He craved time with His Father, so He sent the disciples away by boat.
As the disciples set sail, carrying to-go boxes of bread and fish, they couldn’t stop talking about what they had just experienced. Where had all that food come from? In their fatigue, they couldn’t even process the miracle they had seen. (Mark 6:52).
In the middle of the lake, their conversations died down as the wind picked up. Remember, the disciples were tired and looking for rest when this day started. Now, the wind was against them, and try as they might, they couldn’t make progress. The giant waves washed away the wonder of what they had witnessed hours before. It was literally them against the wind… and they were losing. Maybe you can relate.
Their bodies were desperate for rest, but they had no choice — it was keep rowing, or drown.
When Jesus walked on the scene, terror took over because they thought He was a ghost. They had never seen anybody walk on water before, so it didn’t occur to them that it was the Lord coming to rescue them.
As Jesus stepped over the side of their boat, completely unfazed, the wind stopped at His command. The waves died down and the raging sea became a glassy lake. The disciples did the only thing they knew to do. They worshiped Jesus. In a single day, they had watched math, physics, and nature bend to the will of the Father. His resources and power were clearly limitless.
When they reached the other side of the lake, they were met by yet another crowd. Jesus’ reputation was spreading like wildfire, and every sick person in the area was coming to meet this miracle worker. And Jesus took time to heal them all.
Pastor Rich Wilkerson Jr. once pointed out that while the disciples were caught in a storm that night, they were also traveling between two miracles — the feeding of the 5,000 and all the healings that took place the next day. What if the same is true for you? What if it’s true for everyone? What if we’re all moving between miracles?
Maybe you can’t see the miracle you’re praying for right now, but can you look back and see the one God just did? Reflecting on the great things He’s already done can give you confidence while you wait on what you need now and hope for the greater things ahead. So start reflecting!

About this Plan
Jesus did incredible things during His time on earth. And before He left, He said we would do even greater things after He was gone. That’s a huge promise coming from the One who walked on water and conquered death. But with God, what if we really are capable of more than we imagine? What if we have the power to change the world? What if greater things are ahead?
