Inside OutSample
I’m convinced that following the path that God has set for us is the only way to reach true fulfillment and happiness.
What’s convinced me is simple: it’s the only thing that has ever worked for me.
I’ve met people who had every earthly possession that one could have, and they were miserable. On the contrary, I’ve met those who have little who are truly at peace. I think that this is a key reason why people struggle with the pursuit of happiness. The world tells us we need to have this and that, we need to accomplish X in Y amount of time, and if we don’t, then we’re failing. God, however, tells us that it isn’t about where we’ve been or what we’ve done. Instead, it is about where we’re going, and what we’re going to do. He promises us riches of the soul, and wealth of the spirit. I have experienced these things firsthand, and it was never the result of my own doing. Everything I have belongs to Him. He’s provided for me a life that I only dreamed of as a child. In Matthew, it is stated clearly that God will provide “good gifts to those who ask Him.”
My life is a testimony to this truth.
And while The Bible reminds us of all of these promises, nowhere in the scripture does it say that following God’s path is going to be easy.
In fact, I would argue that it is more difficult to ignore the beckoning of the flesh and the calling of the world in pursuit of the will of God.
It’s easy to do what we want. It’s easy to follow the crowd.
The world tells us that if we follow a set guideline predetermined by society, we will receive tangible objects, which in turn, will be a measurement of who we are as people. This has been turned inside out. The truth is quite the opposite. God tells us in Romans 12 to not conform to the patterns of the world, and to instead seek out His will. Not belongings. Not social status.
HIS will.
You are not what you own. You are a purposefully created child of God, put on this Earth to do great things.
Not because the world says so, but because God did.
