A Biblical View On Social ChangeSample
Priorities
In the Gospel of Luke we see Jesus, for the first time, introducing why He came. This was also written about in Isaiah 61:1-2, hundreds of years before the birth of Jesus. What are the reasons Jesus gives for His coming? Are they more to do with people’s spiritual needs, or their physical needs - or both?
By reflecting on Jesus’ message, we can understand the ways God invites us to partner with Him in bringing solutions to the challenges and needs of our communities. Without God’s involvement, we cannot meet these needs—but without our partnership God will not act.
Reflect:
Sometimes we feel powerless, that we lack the resources to address the problems we face. Scripture shows us that the very limited resources we have are sufficient when we surrender them to God, who is able to multiply their effect.
