Daily Bible Reading – July 2023, God’s Saving Word: Mercy and ForgivenessSample

July 7
Introduction
Moses continues to voice objections to the commission he has been given by God, prompting God to give Moses miraculous powers and appointing Moses’s brother, Aaron, to be Moses’s spokesperson.
Scripture Reading
Exodus 4:1-17
Today’s Key Verse: Exodus 4:11a, 12
The LORD said to [Moses]: “Who gives man his mouth? … Now, go! I will help you to speak, and I will tell you what to say.”
Reflect
What three objections does Moses raise (verses 1, 10, 13)? How does God respond to Moses’s objections? Have you ever resisted doing something that you felt God wanted you to do? If so, what was the circumstance? What were the three signs of the miraculous powers God had given to Moses (verses 3-9)?
Pray
Sovereign God, guide my speech this day. May my words be a source of comfort and encouragement to others and reflect your love. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
Exodus 4:18-31: Moses returns to Egypt.
