The Mystery of WorshipSample

Already the last day of this reading plan! Compare it with the first thoughts you had on worship. Did they change?
I hope I have given you a renewed image of “worship”. That it is so much more than music, although it is a great tool we can use to praise God in community.
As a singer and songwriter, I love music. Sometimes I even think music is ‘more fun’ than worship. It is not a crazy thought, because worship, in essence, is choosing God despite your fleshly feelings and rational thoughts. It is dying to yourself and that could be very painful.
For a period I put the role of worship leader aside, just to sharpen these thoughts and work them out in this reading plan. The use of words like “worship”, and “free worship”, but also raising hands was something I had to re-discover. And with it, a new awareness of the mystery of worship arose.
The music I write myself supports my personal story. A story about choosing God’s plan, about dedication, and about trusting Him fully, based on what He spoke. A story about (a heart of) worship.
Curious? Take a look at my story here on my website. I hope it will transform you by the renewal of your mind
