3 Money Questions to Ask Before Getting MarriedSample
Question 2 : Are you a spender or a saver?
When it comes to couples and money, it's not uncommon to find that one person likes to spend while the other prefers to save. It's rare to see both people as hardcore spenders or savers. Usually, they balance each other out. Even if you both like to spend, one person usually takes responsibility and tries to rein it in.
But if neither of you has any restraint, this can become a big issue. You might not agree on what to spend money on, and arguments can happen. And again that’s why it's so important to talk about your spending habits before tying the knot.
On the other hand, if both of you are hardcore savers, you still need to figure out how to enjoy your lives together without being too frugal.
Two hardcore savers can come together and end up hoarding their lives away. That's not ideal either. The goal is to find the God-given balance.
Let’s pray:
Lord, as we discuss whether we are spenders or savers, grant us the wisdom of Solomon. Help us to be good stewards of the resources You have given us. May we find balance, that we neither hoard nor squander, but use our resources for Your glory and the betterment of those around us.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
