The Church’s Response to Human Trafficking

As we start our fourth day of devotion, we face a harsh reality - human trafficking. It’s a dark force that goes against everything God wants for His children. What can we, as a church, do to fight against this terrible crime? Psalm 82:3-4 guides us, “Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy, deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”

As the church, we’re Christ’s body here on Earth. In a world where hope can seem lost, we are called to step up and fight against things. Human trafficking deeply hurts people; people who have worth and dignity given to them by God.

To fight human trafficking, we need to do a lot of things. We need to tell people about the problem and support the groups that are working hard to stop it. We need to give our own time, effort, and resources to help the cause.

But knowing about the problem isn’t enough. Our faith calls us to do more. We need to stand with the survivors of human trafficking, understanding their pain and the harm done to them. As Christians, we can offer hope, healing, and the promise of a better future.

We should also look at what causes human trafficking. Things like poverty, inequality, and injustice. Our faith should lead us to work against these things. We need to push for policies that protect human rights and promote dignity, equality, and justice. Proverbs 31:8-9 states, “Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.”

As Christians, we have a responsibility to fight for justice, to protect the weak, and to help the oppressed. Our response to human trafficking should show our faith – kind, strong, unwavering, full of conviction and determination. We have the power given to us by God to make a real difference in the lives of people affected by this global crisis.

With God’s help, we can speak up for those who can’t, help the weak, and spread goodness in a world filled with evil. United in faith and purpose, we can bring the light of justice and compassion to the darkest places.
