The Anna AnointingSample
You Are the Bride of Christ
Even though Anna was a widow, she didn’t pray as a widow. She understood that she was a bride. As the bride of Christ we are yoked to the purposes of Jesus, our Bridegroom. Our desire to please Him outweighs the fear of man. When we relate to Jesus as our Bridegroom, understanding His affection for us, we are made perfect in love. The Bible tells that perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18).
Serving the Lord from the perspective of a bride delivers us from tradition and from ministry burnout. As a bride we learn to lean and depend on the grace of God to do the works of ministry.
As a bride you will learn to cast your cares and burdens upon the Lord because of covenantal love. When we as Christians live from the bridal paradigm, we learn to embrace Jesus’s affection for mankind and for us, which empowers us to serve Him.
If you’re going to be effective in life, your identity must be rooted in the covenantal love of Christ. Your life situation and social status do not define who you are before the throne of God. You may be single, divorced, or widowed, but in the eyes of God you’re the bride of Christ.
