It's Just a Lot

DAY 12 OF 21

I’ve always struggled with anxiety. A few months ago, I was driving home from Detroit, and the expressway that I was on had a lot of construction. I’m a pretty new driver; I’ve only had my level one license for a few months, so, obviously, I haven’t driven through many stressful situations. But while I was driving, my legs started tensing up and shaking, my breathing got heavier, and I felt very anxious about driving in the construction. I’ve experienced anxiety before, but never while driving. Managing anxiety can be hard, especially when you have to control a vehicle at the same time. I had no idea what to do, but I knew that I couldn’t control my anxiety with my own strength. So I took a deep breath and asked God to help me by giving me peace. And, in an instant, my legs relaxed, and I had the strength to safely drive home. Through that, I was reminded that God’s peace can and will help me overcome any situation.

So I challenge you: Next time you start to feel nervous or anxious, take a deep breath, and ask God to give you strength and peace to get through the tough situation you’re experiencing.
