How to Win Friends & Influence People

DAY 2 OF 5

Day 2: The Importance of Encouragement and Appreciation

Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Quote: "People work for money but go the extra mile for recognition, praise, and rewards." - Dale Carnegie

Today, let's explore the importance of encouragement and appreciation in your relationships.

Get ready again for the wisdom of God’s Word to be absolutely amplified to you.

In 1 Thessalonians 5:11, Paul writes, "Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing."

This simple, yet powerful advice aligns exactly with what Dale Carnegie wrote above.

Do you remember the last time someone encouraged you?

It was POWERFUL, right?

Let’s dive into the story of Barnabas in Acts 4:36-37 and Acts 11:22-24.

Barnabas, whose name means "son of encouragement," played a vital role in the early church by uplifting and supporting fellow believers.

He not only sold his land to provide financial support but also encouraged and mentored new converts like Paul, fostering a sense of unity and purpose within the community.

As leaders and influencers, you should strive to emulate Barnabas' example by appreciating and encouraging others in their efforts.

When you take the time to recognize the achievements and contributions of those around you, you create a positive and uplifting environment that fosters growth and success.

What I love about encouraging others is that it really is about putting courage into someone else.

And who doesn’t need more courage?

You need it. I need it. We all need courage.

And you know what? Giving courage to others not only blesses them but blesses you.

In Luke 6:38 it says, “Give and it will be given unto you.”

If you want more courage in your life, get out there and start giving it away.

As you go about your day, think about the people in your life who could use a word of encouragement or appreciation.

Give them a call. Send a text. Write that email. Do what you need to do now!

Reach out to them and share your gratitude for their hard work and dedication.

Remember, your words have the power of life or death. So start giving out LIFE into your world and expect great things to happen.

I’m excited for you.

You are a walking seed factory of courage.

Start planting courage every place you go.
