God's Redemption Story (Genesis)Sample
Have you ever thought you heard from God—a promise, direction, or insight—and then you had to wait so long that you thought maybe God forgot? That’s what Abraham thought, but we can’t really blame him. Genesis records five times when God showed up and promised Abraham a son followed by more descendants than the stars. But God’s promise took a long time. From the day of God’s first promise to the day Sarah gave birth to Isaac, Abraham wandered around the desert for 125 years.
If you feel like you’ve been waiting a very long time for God to act, ask him about it. 1 John 5:14–15 tells us that if we ask according to God’s will, we know he hears us and will answer. His shoulders are big enough to carry the weight of our questions, so don’t grow weary of asking God to fulfill his promises to you.
