God's Redemption Story (Genesis)Sample

Any time Christians reflect on Joseph, we tend to focus on all the parts that made him a hero. While a slave, he worked hard for his master. He resisted a woman trying to seduce him. He worked hard to maintain the jail he was stuck in. He saved Egypt from extinction. And his forgiveness of his brothers paved the way for the exponential growth of the nation of Israel.
But we often forget that Joseph probably had some tough days, too. When he first saw his brothers, he didn’t say, “It’s all good.” He accused them of being spies and threw them in prison. Many months passed before Joseph finally forgave them and mended the relationship.
Sometimes, we need to process our hurts while we’re on the way to forgiveness, and that’s okay. God designed our need to process. However, we need to be careful not to stop along the way, refusing to move forward and calling it “in process.” If you are angry with someone today, ask God to help you take another step toward forgiveness.
