Not OkaySample

One of the first things movie directors do when they start a new project is cast their actors. They try to get the biggest possible stars and the most talented performers to make the movie as good as it can possibly be. Nobody wants to make a movie with a bunch of actors who aren't skilled at what they do.
Well, almost nobody . . . think of God as life's director and every single person has been cast in the movie. It'd be nice if we were all cut out to be big stars and Oscar-winning actors, but that's just not the case. And believe it or not, God planned it that way.
In today's reading, Paul says God actually picked us for our parts because we're not famous. God knows how many of us struggle with worry and stress and feel like we're not measuring up to who we're supposed to be. We're not letting God down because this is exactly how God planned it.
See, God wants all of us to point towards Jesus. When we're feeling weak, exhausted, burnt out, or stressed, we can trust in Jesus because he's the one who's supposed to be handling all of this in the first place. You weren't meant to handle all of this on your own! You were meant to trust in Jesus. And when you do, you'll see who the real star of the show is.

About this Plan

We'll look at four major stressors we all deal with and see how God's words can give us comfort, guidance, and help with each of them. We'll talk about what Jesus offers you when you're not okay, what God wants you to know when people reject you, what to do when it's not easy to do what's right, and when we feel worried, we'll see what God has to say.
