Day 3: Overcoming Fear to Fulfill the Divine Calling

Don't let fear hold you back, don't let fear paralyze you, don't limit God to what you see around you or to the limits people have set for themselves. Just go for it!

As the stories of Gideon and David demonstrate, it's essential not to let fear stand in the way of our destiny.

When you read the rest of the story of David, slayer of the giant Goliath, you see that when David becomes king he will be surrounded by valiant warriors who will also be giant slayers. These giant slayers did much more than David! Saul, on the other hand, never had any giant-killers around him. Do you know why? I think it's because he himself never killed a single giant.

If you kill your giant, you'll be surrounded by giant-killers. If you dare to face your giants, if you overcome your fears, you will also open the way for others around you (family, friends,...) to accomplish extraordinary things. You enable them to say, "It's possible and I want to be a giant killer too."

Remember that fear is a thief that steals your moments of joy, happiness, fulfillment and blessing. Don't let your thoughts go off on their own and be controlled by fear. Take control of your thoughts, for it is in our minds that the strongholds God encourages us to dismantle are formed.

For the weapons with which we fight are not carnal; but they are mighty, by God's virtue, to overthrow strongholds. We overthrow reasoning and every lofty thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and we bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.
