All In: Faith UnfurledSample

Abraham was a giant of the Old Testament. He was the patriarch from whom came the Messiah. From Abraham came the nation of Israel who would bless the entire world with the Messiah and the Scriptures. Abraham was the father of faith.
Hebrews 11:8 tells us that God called him out of his homeland to go into a new land that he would later receive as an inheritance. He lived in Ur of the Chaldees, which was a very advanced civilization. He left a delightful place to go live in tents.
Abraham left his home not knowing where he was going to end up. He sojourned in a land of promise, living the rest of his life in tents. From Abraham, his son Isaac and grandson Jacob, the whole world would be blessed by the Messiah and the Scriptures.
Abraham obeyed God’s command to leave a life of comfort for a life of hardship because he was not about life on this earth. Hebrews 11:10 tells us that Abraham “…looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.”
Abraham was not impressed with the buildings, edifices, and tapestries of this life. His focus was on eternity and life to come.
How about you? What are you looking for? Are you living this life for big houses, fast cars, and an easy retirement? Those things are going to crumble and fall. However, if you are living for eternity, it will never end. Be like Abraham and live life that is all-in for the Lord!
