One Week to a Healthier MarriageSample

Building Healthy Communication
Yesterday we unpacked the importance of honesty in a binding marriage. However, being truthful and transparent with your spouse will only go so far without good communication habits.
It’s important to communicate truth with grace to your spouse. If you’re all truth, your honesty won’t be received well – you could inadvertently cause hurt and create a rift in your relationship. It’s important to choose your words carefully so as not to stir up conflict or get a rise out of your spouse.
On the flip side, speaking with too much grace and too little truth won’t help matters either. The honesty you’re trying to communicate may get lost in translation because your words have been too sugar-coated.
How can you apply the truth from Proverbs 15:1 and communicate truth in a gentle way with your spouse?
