Bible Reading 101Sample

Bible Reading 101

DAY 2 OF 5

Now, we’ve laid out the question to ask when we read our Bible, “What is God revealing to me?” We are going to continue to practice that daily to make it a habit.

People who try to make a habit stick often have really good intentions, but they bite off more than they can chew! This is why we are starting small!

Today’s passage is one of my favorites because it reminds me WHY reading my Bible will help to set me up for success.

Did you catch that when you read?

Verse 8 says, “…meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”

When we spend time studying and reading the Bible, we are setting ourselves up to make good and wise decisions!

Think about it another way: when you study for a test in school, you study so that you retain the information and can use it to apply it to answer the questions on the test correctly.

What we read in the Bible is much of the same! When we mindfully read the Bible, we store its message away in our hearts and minds so that when we come up against decisions we need to make in life, the first information we will call upon is the Word of God!

My prayer for you today is that you can tuck this passage away in your heart and remember that when we call upon the wisdom of the Bible, it will help us make God-honoring decisions!
