Holy Night and Little Star: A 5-Day Reading PlanSample
Day 2
“Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be.” — Luke 1:29
At first, Mary was worried and frightened about what it meant to be “favored” by God. She probably guessed that it would mean big changes in her life. Being worried and frightened about things changing is part of being human. It’s not wrong to feel that way.
Discussion
What is a big change that has happened in your life? Was it scary?
Prayer
Dear God, changes are sometimes scary. Thank You for letting us feel our big feelings. Thank You that we can tell You about them because You will always be there with us.
(Tell God about any worries or fears you have about a change you are facing in your life right now.)
Scripture
About this Plan
At Christmas, we remember how God brings peace and joy to the world. The first Christmas was challenging for a young Jewish girl named Mary. God asked her to do something that seemed hard—to give birth to a baby who would become the Savior of the world. Are you ready to say yes to God this season?
