Pour: An Experience With GodSample
GODS POUR THROUGH COMMUNITY
People are an extension of God's love towards us. And relationships are one of the ways God pours into us. God expresses Himself in community in different ways. Whether it’s through the conversations we have, the hugs we receive, or the random acts of kindness shown to us by those close to us. These are all examples of how God expresses Himself within the community that He has ordained for us to be a part of.
It's important that you plug into community and surround yourself with people that will support your spiritual and personal growth. Community is a gift from God. Each and every one of us is worthy of experiencing the beauty of it. Sometimes the next version of who we are to become in Christ, requires deeper and more meaningful relationships.
You might be apprehensive about forming authentic connections with people because of painful past experiences. And that is understandable. However, I believe that this is a season, God wants to heal you. He also wants you to Trust Him enough to bring you into new spaces and around genuine people, that will love you back to wholeness.
God may lead you to restore some lost friendships. Friendships that weren’t toxic but maybe you grew apart and neither of you knew how to deal with the distance. It might even be a relationship with a sibling that needs repairing. Allow God to mend it, by mending your heart first. God understands the importance of relationships and how significant they are to our growth and development.
PRAYER
Ask the Lord to align you with the right people. Ask the Holy Spirit to heal your heart from betrayal, rejection, abandonment and disappointment in previous relationships. Ask Him for the courage to let go of the relationships that are not beneficial to your wellbeing or walk with the Lord. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you the discernment to identify the people He has placed in your life. Ask God to give you the grace and boldness to be vulnerable with those people, so that you can experience safety and love.
AFFIRMATION
I am worthy of healthy and meaningful relationships.
PRACTICE
Write down the names of your friends and family and take some time out today to pray for them. If there are any strained relationships, ask God to heal them and bring restoration.
