Day five is the gift of praise. As we dive into the Christmas story, we encounter numerous songs of praise—the songs of Mary, Zachariah, & Elizabeth—each one lifting their voices in praise. Today, let's focus on Zachariah's song found in Luke 1:67-79.

Luke 1:68-70 (NIV); “Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel,
because he has come to his people and redeemed them.
69 He has raised up a horn of salvation for us
in the house of his servant David
70 (as he said through his holy prophets of long ago).

Zachariah’s song is a powerful anthem of salvation. He praises God for sending the Savior, a mighty warrior who will rescue and redeem His people. This Savior fulfills the promises of Old Testament prophecies, bringing salvation and victory.

This Christmas, I encourage you to give God a gift—praise. Day five is not just about receiving a gift; it's about giving one to God. Take a moment to reflect on the things you're thankful for. Praise God for your family, for the church you're part of, and for the gifts He's given you.

As we conclude day number five, let's lift our voices in praise.

Praise: God, thank you for your faithfulness, for the gift of salvation through our Savior, Jesus Christ. We praise you for your goodness and grace.
