Christmas SlaysSample

My absolute favorite Christmas tradition is going to look at Christmas lights. I absolutely love the reds, greens, blues, yellows, and every other color glimmer through the darkness. Christmas lights bring me joy and I think the reason for that is because they represent a tradition for my family. Every year, my family goes and looks at Christmas lights.
We love the way they shimmer and shine through the darkness. I love Christmas lights. I love seeing them light up the darkness and I love getting to see the lights bring joy to my family. There is just something about a light shining in the darkness that draws us in. It gives us hope. It brings us joy.
There is something about a light shining in the darkness that truly transforms how we see the world. Christmas slays because Jesus is a light in the darkness. God sent His own Son to a lost world.
We treat each other poorly, we deal with violence, hate, grief. All of this is a byproduct of sin. And because of sin, we needed a Savior in our dark world.
And that’s where Jesus comes in. He is our Light. He is our Savior. He is the One who shines in the darkness of our world.
So this year as you see lights shining on dark winter nights, remember that God sent His Son to save us from ourselves. Our sin disqualified us from a relationship with God. But through the Light of the World, Jesus, we are able to have life everlasting.
And gosh, that really makes Christmas slay.

About this Plan

Why does Christmas slay? That’s the question we are going to be answering as we explore the gift that is the Christmas story. Christmas slays because God dwelt among us. Jesus is the ultimate gift, a Light in the darkness. So come along as we celebrate the gift of Jesus and experience the joy and the magnitude of the Christmas story.
