What Should I Say? Devotions From Time Of Grace Sample
I think my coworker is an atheist
Probably a lot of your coworkers are atheists or agnostics, or at least want no connection to any Christian denomination. The Pew Research Center’s research shows that 25% of Americans identify as “nones,” as in “none of the above.”
We live in a post-Christian age. There was a time when society “expected” people to go to church, or at least maintain a church relationship. Not anymore. But don’t be shocked. Scripture said it would be like this: “Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, ‘Where is this “coming” he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation’” (2 Peter 3:3,4).
Jesus himself told us that the love of most would grow cold. The book of Revelation predicts that Satan will get so confident of his growing power that he will plot the final battle of Armageddon. He and all his followers have already been judged and will be crushed.
But in the meantime, you and I are God’s medics in the war zone. The way we talk about our faith and the integrity with which we act will be watched. Never give up on people, since we don’t know where the Spirit’s words will take root. Always be ready to speak God’s words of accountability and mercy and the wonderful forgiveness and immortality that we have in Jesus Christ.
The rest is up to God.
