Prayer 5: Becoming Christlike In Your Giving

Have you ever stopped to think about how generous God is? Yes, God Himself is generous. He loves to give so much that He gave His only Son, Jesus, to die for your sins and mine. Not only does God give generously, but He also loves to give His best.

Since God loves to give, shouldn't we love to give also?

Of course we should. And learning to give generously, like God does, is a big key to financial increase.

How is giving generously a key to financial increase? Read what Jesus says in Luke 6:38. In this passage, Jesus was clear that provision comes "into your bosom" after you give, and with the same measure that you use to give.

If you give generously, it will come back to you generously.

Jesus said that you will receive either as generously or as meagerly as you give. So, do you want to receive generously? Do you want both God and people to spontaneously pour blessings "into your bosom" everywhere you go?

If so, become a cheerful and generous giver like God is.

Pray this today to ask the Lord to help you become Christlike in your giving:

"Father God, in Jesus' name, please make me a cheerful and generous giver like You are. Help me to love giving the same way You do. Teach me the way of generosity, Lord, and help me to always say "yes" whenever You prompt me to give.

Father, please also help me to remember that I prayed this! Whenever You prompt me to give, please help me to notice that You are answering this exact prayer that I'm praying this moment. Don't let me brush off Your promptings, Lord; but help me to hear You, obey, and see Your ideas for giving all the way through. Thank You, Father. In Jesus' name, amen!"

Friend, you desire to see financial increase in your life, start by being a blessing to somebody. Sowing is the only way to get a harvest. But as you sow, you will see God bless you in return!
