Day 26: Finding Joy in Humility
Humility is often misconstrued as a form of weakness or lack of self-esteem. However, in a biblical context, humility is a source of true strength and Joy. It allows us to see others through the lens of love and to act in ways that promote collective well-being over individual gain.
In Philippians 2:3-4, the Apostle Paul calls us to a radical form of humility that considers others before ourselves. This is more than just an ethical principle; it’s a pathway to Joy. When we empty ourselves of pride and self-centeredness, we make room for God’s Spirit to work in us, bringing a Joy that is both lasting and fulfilling.
Humility frees us from the exhausting endeavor of self-promotion and competition. It allows us to find Joy in the achievements of others and to contribute to a more harmonious, loving community.

Identify an opportunity to put someone else’s needs before your own. It could be as simple as allowing someone to go ahead of you in a queue or as involved as volunteering your time to help others.
