It's PersonalSample

Remember when you were a kid and you were scared that there was a monster in your closet or under your bed? As adults, that type of fear seems silly. Of course, we don’t tell kids that. Instead, we talk them through it, we listen to why that fear feels so big and powerful, and we remind them that no matter what they might be afraid of, they are not alone.
As adults, our fears look a lot different. We’re trying to pay our mortgage or make rent, we have families to feed, jobs to perform in—or jobs we need to find, bosses to please, and so much more. That doesn’t even scrape the surface of the deep existential fears we all have. But the same thing that is true for kids and their fears is true for us and our fears. Sometimes we just need someone to hear us out and tell us we aren’t alone. This is exactly what the writer of this psalm is reminding himself of. Our fear is real, but so is God’s presence in the midst of it.God has promised to always be with us. And in Him, of whom should we be afraid?

About this Plan

Everyone is different, yet we all share a common quality. Deep down, we were created to be deeply known by others and by God. We were made to experience relationships with others and a relationship with God that’s personal. Because when it’s personal, it changes things. Things matter more. People matter more. Over the next few weeks, we will discover a personal God and what that means for us.
