He Cheated but He Renews

DAY 2 OF 3

When we wake up every single day we have the choice to hold on to past hurts and pain from yesterday or to ask the Lord to cover us with His armor. We have the choice to walk in acceptance and healing. He is ready to give it to us if we are willing to receive it. To remain in the spirit of acceptance and not retract back into our somber pity party, we must place our belt of truth to ensure we are honest with our emotions and feelings with God to prevent deceit from entering our hearts or minds.

We must place the breastplate of righteousness to shield our hearts from unrighteous emotions and resentment that could manifest if we are not careful; the gospel of peace so that we can step into whatever circumstance that will come our way today so we will remain at peace and in a spirit of kindness and meekness to fight our rage or the anxiety that will try and trickle in.

We must place our helmet of salvation on our heads so that no matter what comes our way we will honor our relationship with Jesus and represent Him, even when we feel attacked or dishonored.

Lastly, we must always attack with the sword of the Spirit, not the sway of our emotions when we are tempted to lash out and cut with the sword of our tongues. We must be careful that when we get our feelings hurt, or we hear words we do not understand, or face situations we do not like, we do not act hastily and cut with our tongues, but we fight our tongues with the sword of the Holy Spirit so that we can practice self-control.

When we step out with our full armor of God we are equipped to battle the enemy. I encourage you today to step out fully armored in preparation for your new path. Do not allow anything to steal your joy, peace, and hope in Jesus to make you new.

About this Plan

He Cheated but He Renews

Dr. Marshall's "He Cheated" series has gone through the initial response of infidelity, the path of reconciliation, but then there is also the path of renewal. If reconciliation was not the path in your marriage, remember that God makes all things new and will bring beauty from the ashes. This plan is meant to encourage and inspire new beginnings.
