Imagine you had the perfect gift to give to everyone. It was exactly right for your parents, your friends, your brothers, and sisters, and even the perfect gift for that hard to buy for a person who has everything. At Christmas time people spend thousands of dollars, hours of time, and use a lot of energy to find the perfect gift for the people in their lives.

We already have the perfect gift. There isn’t a gift on earth that compares to this one. It’s been handed down through the ages and this gift is never ending, it will never run out and it will never need to be replaced.

The Gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ, is to share. We’re not meant to keep it to ourselves. Think about how many people shared the good news before you heard it. The Angel Gabriel shared it with Mary and then Joseph and eventually it would be told to shepherds and wise men. Then when Jesus was grown up, the disciples told everyone about Jesus dying to take the punishment for sin, and God’s gift of grace was given to all. The disciples and the first Christians went on to share the good news. Now, thousands of years later you have heard the good news! It can’t stop with us; we must share this gift with others too. Jesus, God’s Son, is the perfect gift.
