Immanuel, God With UsSample
Darkness gives you no sign that light will emerge. When circumstances worsen, hope fades. Our brain is designed to activate defense mechanisms in the face of danger and threat. The feeling of anxiety is nothing more than an emotion to alert us, to keep us awake before the possible catastrophe that threatens our life.
The problem is, when we allow the emotion to settle in where it does not belong. When my eyes perceive darkness, my mind tends to think of nothing but that darkness and its consequences. Then there is something in us, small, tiny, that makes us want to push back. Fear must not be allowed to silence that voice of hope.
That impulse, that small flash in the darkness, which seems insignificant, when we give it room, can provoke a wonderful and unexpected birth. It can transform darkness into light.
For years, mankind had suffered the consequences of darkness. But God intervened. A little light, a baby, in a humble Jewish family, came as something not to pay too much attention to. Who is going to notice a child? Born where the farm animals sleep - nothing more to offer?
But he was so much more than that. He didn't need scenery, he didn't need luxury, he didn't need any of that because he was at the foundation of the world, he owned it all. But he wanted to prove something. That God had decided, of His own free will and out of pure love, to come to us. And Immanuel came.
So the light, the hope, never faded, because now that light, that hope, was a person, the person of Jesus. And he came to stay. And be with us. The question is, will you give him room to shine in your home, in your life?
About this Plan
In the beginning, God dwelt with human beings. The relationship was close, direct, without intermediaries, and without impediments. Everything went wrong because of sin, we went astray, we moved away from home, but then He came. Jesus came to bring light into our lives, He brought us closer to the Father again. And now God is with us, He is Immanuel.
