Changed & Challenged

When you TRULY meet Jesus, He changes everything. For Zacchaeus, the thing he had loved, valued, treasured, and pursued most was money, but gaining Jesus was far better than any amount of money. In fact, just a few hours with Jesus, and Zacchaeus was ready to completely change how he viewed and dealt with money.

Zacchaeus made a commitment to anyone he had cheated out of money to pay them back four times what he stole! Wow!!!! Not only that, but he was committed to giving half of his money to the poor. Talk about a transformation. Zacchaeus was changed and challenged.

The beautiful thing about Jesus is He does not expect us to completely change overnight. We are all on a journey of becoming who God has called us to be. That is why Jesus gives His Spirit to anyone who is following him. His Spirit helps us in becoming more like Jesus each day.

Is there something that Jesus wants to change in you, or lovingly challenge you with? Would you be willing to sacrifice what you’ve been pursuing to gain something greater? If you gain Jesus, you’ll never be lacking anything.

The equation of Jesus could go like this: Jesus + nothing = EVERYTHING.

Jesus put it like this: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field.” - Matthew 13:44
